As reported in the Herald 31st March 2011.
" The forgotten bravery of a Second World War hero was honoured yesterday, almost 67 years to the day of his death.
The Lord Provost of Glasgow, Bob Winter unveiled a plaque outside 7 Jedburgh Gardens, in the west end of Glasgow, the former home of Lieutenant John Young, who died aged 24 ahead of the 1944 Battle of Kohima.
Whilst doing family research, Roy McCallum, the boss of a local advertising firm, found Lt. Young gave his life to cover the withdrawal of his men during a Japanese attack on India."
