Andrew Grant has passed on these photographs of war memorials stored in North Leith Parish Church

We already have St Ninains UF, Bonnington PC WW2 and North leith Coburg Street UF church memorials on the forum so these could belong to:

Bonnington Church WW1
North Leith Ferry Road UF (later St Nicholas')

I think I would rule out Bonnington for these two because I suspect they come from the same church (and were rescued from a skip by the looks of it) So can anyone confirm if these are the memorials which were in the former North Leith UF Church (WW1 memorial) and Leith St Nicholas' (WW2 memorial) at Ferry Road.

The former St Nicholas' church was sold in 1985 and was demolished to make way for flats. It occupied the site opposite the BP garage currently on Ferry Road.

Adam -sorry not enough credits to get the details from scotlandspeople but...
James K Handyside married Isabella in Leith sometime before 1916.
Perhaps the location of the ceremony on the marriage register might give a clue?

This may be the William Tinlin on the memorial.

"William Tinlin. Born in 1898 in Leith North District [SCVL, cen.]. In 1901 he was living with his parents in Leith, Edinburgh [cen.]. He was a Private in the 7th Battalion, Royal Scots, occupation rope worker [death cert.]. He died on 22 May 1915 in the Gretna Rail Disaster on the Caledonian Railway at Quintinshill, Gretna Parish, Dumfriesshire, age 19 [cert.]. At the time of his death, his residence had been 11 Bangor Road, Leith [cert.]. Bur. in Edinburgh Rosebank Cemetery, Edinburgh [CWGC]."

I'm not sure how this might help beyond the Leith North connection.
