Just found information on how William McKee died.
On 22 June 1918, the Edinburgh Evening News reported:
Last night a young Broxburn shale miner, named William M’Kee, residing at Greendykes Road, was killed by a heavy fall of shale which occurred in Westwood Mine, belonging to Oakbank Oil Company, Ltd. He died while being conveyed to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary. M'Kee was released from the Army last November to resume his occupation as a shale miner, and in the Royal Scots had seen a good deal of active service in France. He was only recently married.

SIMPSON, ELIZABETH

Rank: Nurse
Date of Death: 10/05/1917
Regiment/Service: Territorial Force Nursing Service
Grave Reference J. 33.
Cemetery UPHALL CEMETERY

Elizabeth Atkinson was the daughter of Henry Atkinson, Shale Miner, and Helen Anderson of Uphall Station. She married Alexander Simpson, Shale Miner, on 5 June 1907 at the Institute Hall, Pumpherston. They had one daughter who was age 9 when her mother died. Before joining the TFNS, she worked at Royal Maternity Hospital, Edinburgh. She enrolled for service on 1 Feb 1917 and was called up on 12 Feb 1917. She worked as a Special Military Probationer at 2nd Western General Hospital, Manchester. Although she had a clean health certificate, she took ill on 28 March 1917. Her husband was given a week's leave from serving in France and her parents traveled from Scotland to be with her. Cause of death was Nephritis. Her service record shows an outstanding mess bill of £4.8.6. and letters go back and forward to try to retrieve this sum. Her poor husband was back serving in France, coping with his war duties in addition to his grief and was receiving numerous letters about the mess bill! He was a Battery Sgt. Major with the R.F.A. and survived the war. He asked for help to pay her funeral, however was refused as she died in the UK.

John Munnoch is also commemorated in the Stirling Roll of Honour, one of two of that name; the other was in a NZ regiment but his NOK was his father in Cowane Street in Stirling. Wonder if they were related?

I'm assuming that no list of the Fallen has ever been produced for this memorial?

Names Plaques were added in 2019. The WMR report has all the names recorded.
