Adam and myself have maybe mentioned recently that we've been busy working on a project, but we weren't able to discuss it much until now.

We've been working on a project with the University of Edinburgh and the City of Edinburgh Council Libraries called Edinburgh's War.

It's quite late at night now, so for more details please have a look at the Scottish Military Research Group blog post, which gives you more information than you can shake a stick at:

http://scottishmilitary.blogspot.com/2010/10/edinburghs-war-1914-1918.html

I'd also like to take this opportunity to thank Adam, Garry, Shona and anyone else from the Project I might have forgotten for all their fantastic hard work on this project. This is shaping up to be a fantastic website and there's even more to come!

Yes, still more to come. What you see now is just the start and over the next few years there should be more updates. The University announced it is going to fund the project up until at least August 2014 so plenty for us still to do.

Cheers

Adam

I read through the guide to researching your WW1 ancestor. Great stuff. I presume written largely by David and/or Adam? I would like to hand out a few copies at my talk this Saturday, with due attribution of course, is this OK?

If you are revising it at any time, you may consider adding references to 'talking scot' and 'electric scotland' sites. Also this site might be worth a quick look........
