The memorial is located in the family vault of the Stirling-Stuarts, former Lairds of Castlemilk, the entrance to which is on the south side of Carmunnock Parish Church.

Interesting to note that the memorial gives his place of burial but his entry on the CWGC database shows he has no known grave.
