Can't seem to find this man on CWGC or SNWM - can anyone help please?
Private James Ireland Wilson of 19th Battalion, The King's (Liverpool Regiment) apparently died of wounds 22 March 1917.

Hi Ken,

Appears to have served as James Murray Ireland:

CWGC

Name: James Murray Ireland
Birth Place: Castle Douglas, Ayr
Residence: Seaforth, Lancs
Death Date: 22 Mar 1917
Enlistment Location: Liverpool
Rank: Private
Regiment: King's (Liverpool Regiment)
Battalion: 19th Battalion
Number: 17855
Type of Casualty: Died of wounds

edit: his WO 363 service file has survived - gives his mother as Mrs Euphemia Wilson, Bridge of Dee.

Stuart

Cheers Stuart - now sure that it's him.
Born as James Murray Ireland 2 March 1886 at Bridge of Dee, Balmaghie.
Mother Euphemia Ireland. Father later officially registered as James Cowan Murray of Marle St. Castle Douglas.
Euphemia married George Wilson in Balmaghie in 1888.

James M Ireland is listed on the Rhonehouse School Roll of Honour.

Although in Kelton Parish, this would have been the nearest school to Bridge of Dee and a number of other men of Balmaghie Parish are listed here.
Perhaps unusually, James is not mentioned on his step-father and mother's grave in Balmaghie Parish Churchyard.
