This is St Margaret's Church, original site of this memorial. It was at OS Map Ref NX 058 609 and was demolished we think in the 1950s.

Louise McCandlish at the church has informed me that the church was in fact demolished in the 1960s.

There are two William Morrisons named on Stranraer Burgh War Memorial. As well as the William Morrison named here, there is also one named on the Ivy Place UF Church memorial. With no further indication of regiment, date of death etc it hasn't been possible to identify which was which. So it could be:

Memorial: Pozieres Memorial

OR

Name: MORRISON, WILLIAM

Nationality: United Kingdom
Rank: Private
Service Number: 41025
