Additional Info: Born in Inveresk Parish. HMS Copra is mentioned on many graves in Normandy and is used when the craft the person was lost on is unknown. HMS Copra is a shore base in Largs Scotland and an acronym for Combined Operations Pay Ratings and Accounts and its use confirms that the person was assigned to Combined Operations. On the night of 20-21/07/1944 601 L.C.M Flotilla were returning from France to Britain when it was caught in a storm. Many were lost.
