The following servicemen appear on the Clarkston Greenbank Parish Church memorial, and I'm having great difficulty in tracking them down.

WW2
John Reid
There are numerous (J)John Reids on CWGC & SNWM, however none with a Clarkston/Busby connection.

WW1
Alex P Dorrans
John Macfarlane
Again there are numerous (J)John Macfarlanes on CWGC & SNWM, none with a Clarkston/Busby connection.

Can anyone help me?

I think you will find Alexander P Dorrans is Alexander Powell below.
He was born ( illeg) at Durham Terrace, Busby on 12th Nov 1897. Alexander Powell's parents were given as Lizzie Dorans McNeish and James Powell, father. Alexander Powell is in the house at Durham Terrace, grandson in 1901. The other six children there have the surname Dorrans.

And how about this man for your other WW1 name? I've seen John and James interchanged before. It's not common but it's not unheard of.

It might be him but not sure where those details come from. They are laid out as if they are a CWGC record, they are not.
