I wonder if anyone recognises the location of this statue?



It may not be a war memorial - the plaque looks to small to refer to anyone other than the chap on the horse. I reckon it's probably in Edinburgh. The photo was taken in 1942 and that's my mother to the left of the plaque.

Thanks for any help available.

It's the statue of Haig on the esplanade at Edinburgh Castle.
