This wooden carved and painted plaque sits in the entrance foyer of Stirling Golf Club. It appears by permission from the club secretary.

A very nice simple memorial and good to see another golf club memorial. Interesting to see all the men listed are officers. I wonder if this is the Second World War casualty?

Not being a local boy, I couldn't comment on JK McCall, but the plaque says Capt. Anyway I did notice that all the Great War names were officers - must have been something to do with the "class system" at the time. From the members I met things have got a bit more egalitarian now. I think that the "lower orders" at the time were expected to play "fitba" rather than "gowf".
Cheers,
