Sometimes recorded as Wandel and Lamington. Previously listed on the project as a church memorial but I believe it is a civic memorial as there is no other memorial that seems to cover the area and the men are not listed on the Coulter (Culter) memorial which seems to be the next nearest.
UKNIWM Ref 53621
OS Map Ref NS 979 309
The memorial is set into the North outside wall of the church in a sealed off doorway. There are two churches in Lamington, this is the one to the North of the main road. I believe that it is no longer used for worship as there are no nameboards, noticeboards or anything else at the building to show that it is now used as a church.
The last line is not very clear in the photo “He that loseth his life for My sake shall find it”.
