A friend of mine Fraser Mitchell from Aberdeenshire has informed me of an interesting War Memorial to
Lieut Commander David Ian BALFOUR , RN within the Balfour Family Mausoleum at COLINTON , Edinburgh . Lt Cmdr Balfour was killed in action on HMS Sheffield on 4 May 1982 in the Falklands Campaign . Lt Cmdr was a relative of author /lawyer Robert Louis Stevenson as RL Stevenson's grandfather (The Rev Lewis Balfour, DD ) was the Minister at Colinton .
The memorial stone within this Balfour family Mausoleum, COLINTON , Edinburgh reads :
