Statutory Deaths from War Returns (S.P.)
Royal Scots 7th/17th Bns. , deaths in November 1917
I can make everything else out apart from one man .....
To assist in getting the 'hang of it, the following are the men 'either side' - I've verified all their info on both CWGC & SNWM but no matter what 'wee trick' I can think of to figure out the unknown man, I'm getting nowhere!
Pte., 7th Bn., Paget, John, age 24, Scotland, 24.11.1917, Egypt, KIA
Pte., 7th Bn., Brown, John M, age 30, Scotland, 24.11.1917, Egypt, KIA
L/Cpl., 7th Bn., Seaman?, James, age 28, Scotland, 24.11.1917, Egypt, KIA
Pte., 7th Bn., Forbes, Alexander, age 37, Scotland, 24.11.1917, KIA
Pte., 7th Bn. Stephen, John, age 26, Scotland, 24.11.1917, DOW

Seenan and it is Joseph not James
(I used SNWM to search that exact date and selected him from surnames beginning with S) - now I'm giving away my secrets

Hi Anne,
SP has him indexed as Joseph Seeman. CWGC and SNWM have him as Joseph Seenan, 303113.

Thanks ADP,
I had originally downloaded the page when I was looking for extra info on Pte. Charles Rhodes who's listed on a family stone in Kilsyth Cemetery & is also listed on Kilsyth Civic Memorial.
I have one or two pages of these War Returns (which I had forgotten all about), so I'm in the process of trancribing them onto yet another spreadsheet!
