Mary Seacole (Crimean nurse) is to have a statue at Westminster

I believe that someone has worked out the name of her father (a Scottish soldier) via army lists etc but I haven't seen the name in print. Does anyone know who he was and where he came from?

There are suggestions that his name might have been James Grant possibly of the 60th Regiment of Foot)

Another point that may be of interest and not mentioned in the two quotes above is that she married Edwin Horatio Hamilton Seacole the godson of Admiral Horatio Nelson. She travelled widely with him until he died in 1844 and then took off on her own.
