This soldier is not listed here but does come from the area and is likely a relative of Kenneth MacLucas whose name is inscribed on the panel (their fathers are both blacksmiths).
Malcolm is not listed at Oban and not listed at Cambuslang or Rutherglen, and if he is in the 1901 Scottish Census I have not found him.

1891 Census Lanarks., Cambuslang, Turnpike Road, Rosebank, recorded, (transcription):- Malcolm MacLucas (18 ), Student in Arts, son, born Ardchattan; Neil MacLucas (53), Blacksmith, born Argyleshire, Kilfinichan (transcript does not record whether widow, married or what); siblings, and a sister-in-law to the head of household - Christina McDonald (54), born Ardchattan.

The Glasgow Herald, Thursday, 16th November, 1916.
"Deaths on Service.
MACLUCAS.-
Died on 15th November, at 2nd Northern General Hospital, Leeds, of wounds received in action on 8th October, 1916, Private Malcolm MacLucas, Canadian Overseas Forces, beloved husband of Grace Scott."

Same publication but the following day's notices, where the original notice is extended:- " ... Canadian papers please copy; military funeral from St. Enoch Station, 9.30 a.m. today to Rutherglen."

SNWM - WW1
Surname MacLUCAS
Forename Malcolm
Rank Pte
Service number 151837
Decoration
Place of birth
Date of death 15 November 1916
Theatre of death Unknown
Cause of death Unknown
SNWM roll CANADIAN EXPEDITIONARY FORCE
Unit name 43rd BATTALION, THE QUEEN'S OWN CAMERON HIGHLANDERS OF CANADA.

CWGC - MacLUCAS, Malcolm
Rank: Private.
Service No: 151837.
Date of Death: 15/11/1916. Age: 43. (Died of wounds.)
Regiment/Service: Canadian Infantry 43rd Bn. (Manitoba Regt.)
Grave Reference: C. 2.
Cemetery: RUTHERGLEN CEMETERY
Additional Information: Son of Neil MacLucas, of Benderloch, Argyllshire; husband of Grace P. MacLucas, of 121, 17th St., Brandon, Manitoba.

Grave registration reports record Age 44.

For a burial at Rutherglen he will have family in that area, if anyone would like to add to this.

I'll find the original photos and see about getting a transcription for the First World War names.
