The media tv and the Courier newspaper last week (February 2020) reported the merger with the GARDNER MEMORIAL CHURCH in Brechin as the costs for the roof etc are too high .
The Angus Presbytery will have a further meeting in March 2020 to plan the timescale for the merger but some of the congregation say they dont want the closure /merger to happen as they have 500 congregation .
This year it would be 800 years of the cathedral being a place of worship ..
