Havign a browse around the National Archives site, I came across a page where you can dowload some of the free talks which have been given at the National Archives. Some of them might be of interest to the members of this forum.

Link to the page listing all the talks:

direct links to some of the talks:

Tracing World War One Ancestors

Tracing pre-1914 Army ancestors

Royal Navy Service Records

Army deaths, marriages and births 1761-1913

There are many more. I've not listened to any of them yet, but these could make ideal listening while commuting to and from work.

They also have a large series of podcasts entitled "Voices of the Armistice" which has a lot of interesting sounding content:

Nice link - I'll have a listen whilst out walking the dog.

New Files From 1978
30 December 2008 12:00
Contemporary historian Mark Dunton discusses the release of high-profile records from 1978 which provide fascinating insight into the thinking of key government figures in the run-up to the Winter of Discontent.

I don't think I'll be listening to this current lot in 30 years time somehow.
