This is a memorial to the pupils of the former John Watson’s school in Edinburgh. The school closed in 1975 and the very impressive building is now the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art. The school had a long association with the Dean Church so when it closed the 2 war memorials were moved to the church and are now on the wall in the upper gallery. The school was on Belford Road at OS Map Ref NT 235 737. Dean Church is on Ravelston Terrace at OS Map Ref NT 238 741.

He is also commemorated on a memorial at the crash site in Norway.
I also looked up the woman listed at the bottom. No clues in CWGC , or on the plaque but this lady is the only Sheila MacLeod on SNWM so I'm guessing it's her.
