Ladies and gentlemen...we now have a blog!

http://scottishmilitary.blogspot.com/

Early days yet, but it's there simply to highlight any items of interest, both here and in the media at large. We'll also use it to publicise any developments on both forums.

Any items you'd like to be posted on the blog, please let me know by PM. They can be something as simple as a new memorial posted on the forum that might be of interest, or something you spotted on the BBC news.

I'm also interested in posting a regular "Story behind the name" feature, where we take a name from a memorial and highlight just what we know about that individual. Let me know if you want to help with that.

In the meantime, please enjoy reading the rather long, rambling introductory post...

It looks great, I have signed up as a follower!

Now all we need is something to happen so David can update it!

Cheers

I've not been able to update this as much as I'd like, but I've made a couple of new posts this evening. I'll try and keep it more up to date than I have.

Think of it as a newspaper column, written by me, only on the internet instead of in a newspaper. It's a place to jot little stories or opinions.

It's apparently what all the "kids" are doing nowadays... Laughing

The kids should get out more.

Mind you, my dad was saying that 30 years ago when I got a Zx80.

I've been adding some of the stories behind the names on memorials to the blog recently, and I'm looking for more of these.

If you have a particular story you'd like to see featured on the blog, do let me know.

Just bumping this thread again to highlight the story of Captain (later Lieutenant Colonel) Berenger Bradford of the 5th Black Watch which appeared in the Scottish Sun today. I've put iit on the blog, together with a little more information I've managed to find about him.

Well worth a look. As always, comments are welcome on the blog itself.
