This church is currently for sale and there has been quite a bit of debate about the future of the stained glass windows and other memorials.
Just received this update from Richard Bellamy:
"Historic Scotland gave me a pretty firm indication that they were very unlikely to allow the stained glass window to be moved.
The idea that I put to HS (which they were broadly in favour of), was to move the brass plaques to the adjacent ruined kirk (St. Colmonell), together with an interpretative board, with photographs of the memorial window and explanatory text, to be erected in the ruined kirk. It was felt that this could tie the old and current churches together.
However, nothing is likely to happen unless/until the church is sold, and we would also look to the Buittle Community Council for its support (plus possible funding), over any progress with this idea."
