One of the crosses (the far left one) has come adrift of the wall and fallen forwards. It's unbroken, though. CWGC and Edinburgh Council have been notified and its re-erection is planned.

I was there end of September/begining October and it was attached to the wall then, so I guess it must be recent. Hope they are quick to restore it before the damage gets worse.

Oh, yes, it's recent. Probably something to do with all the cold conditions.

I think it's probably appropriate that this memorial is mentioned today.

I've been given a copy of the Order of Service Programme and a booklet about the disaster that were issued at May's memorial service. On the page in the booklet about the memorial it states: "For some unknown reason the name of Pte George Garrie was missed out on the plaques although he appeared on all the lists, including those of the plaques, published later. His name, together with that of Pte William S Paterson, who was also missed out, is to be added on a separate plaque during the 2015 Commemoration, bringing the final official total of 1/7RS killed in, or as a direct result of the crash, to 216."

Does anyone know if the new plaque has been added yet?
