I find the inscription confusing. If this marks the presentation of colours or the laying up of colours then I would expect to find a single date, not 1914 - 1919. I would like to know where the colours are laid up, that might solve the puzzle.

I think it reads that, to commemorate their service in WW1, the hospital donated colours to the Regiment. The plaque details this presentation and also that of the Physio wing.
Both the Physio wing and the colours were donated by the Colonel in Chief and the women of Argyll. |
