Anyone who travels south from Inverness along the A9 will be aware of the 'German' head at Slochd.
I always thought this was a natural rock formation but my mother-in-law said she read a letter in the 'Scots' magazine that it was carved by Great War German P-o-W's who worked in the the area during the war and who carved it in memory of one of their comrades who died near Slochd.
If this is the case this will make it a war memorial. Can anyone confirm it was man made? I have my doubts I must say.
If you haven't seen this rock formation look here:

I'd take anything I read in the 'Scots' magazine with a big pinch of "Sunday Post" salt.
I've seen Ossian's cave in Glencoe close up but I doubt that Mr Ossian was ever there. _________________
