19002 Pte. William Ferguson Thom, 3rd Scottish Rifles, clerk, born St. Nicholas enlisted at Aberdeen on 11th December 1915, res 540 Holburn Street. Discharged 3rd May 1917 at Hamlton, medically unfit for further service due to atrophy of muscles left shoulder/ upper arm, also evidence of old hip disease. Not caused or agravated by ordinary military service.
He died due to TB, so not a service related death. _________________ Jim

From the St Neots Advertiser, 1914 - Walter Taylor, a Scotch Territorial stationed in St Neots during the war, died in a “gallant and successful attempt to save a girl from drowning in the river at Eynesbury”. |
