From stuff I found recently, the date of the unveiling of Denny & Dunipace War Memorial was in May 1922 and as the name is in amongst others (and not an 'extra' as sometimes seen on other memorials), I tend to think he wouldn't have died later.

Presumably, the info on the panels would have taken a wee while to collate, then allowing time for the panels to be made, kind of answers that question too (if you know what I mean).

I'm trying to do an 'update' of the Denny & Dunipace Roll of Honour just now so I might come across something as I scan through hundreds of Falkirk Heralds! Can't spend that long going through the microfilms though - I end up dizzy (and no comments about that please!!).

I found that the Voters Roll for 1918/19 were really good tracking down info. The Aberdeenshire ones have the names in order and beside ie Eric Gordon Ritchie (a) Soldier. The (a) is absent it gives an address too. The parents names are there so if you have only Mr & Mrs Ritchie or Mr & Mrs John Ritchie it really great, you can find out mother's names etc.
I also use the valuation rolls and school records. Aberdeen City Library has loads to offer as has the Archives in Dunbar St;
Have you got somewhere locally that would have records like these. Anne
