Hi

Hello to all, great site got the link from a discussion on the 1914-18 forums. I'm from Cumbria just across the border.

All the best

Harry Flashman is a bounder, a coward, a cad!! Wink
So wrote George MacDonald Fraser (not me!)
I was more a fan of his Private MacAuslan, J., the dirtiest soldier in the world.

Welcome to the forum, I can see Cumbria from my window each day (when it's not raining )

Perhaps someone will find a bundle of George MacDonald Fraser's maunuscripts in the same way he found General Flashman's papers!

I hope so, they're not very politically correct but I've enjoyed reading all of them. And like Derek I enjoy the MacAuslan series as well. It's interesting to see how much GMF enjoyed his service with the Gordons whilst James Kennoway ('Tunes of Glory') hated his. Exactly the same characters turn up in both books.

Anyway i'm starting to get off-topic so welcome to the forum.

Cheers

Adam
