Chatelherault is the former hunting lodge of the Duke of Hamilton. It is now open to the public, and has extensive parks and walks.

Within a short distance of the lodge is a memorial to the Normandy veterans.

Blessent mon coeur d’une longueur monotone ( Wounds my heart with a monotonous languor ).

This was the second part of a coded message broadcast to the Resistance by the BBC. It alerted them that the Invasion would begin within 24 hours.

I couldn't help thinking that it was lucky they hadn't used "John has a long moustache" for their motto....
