The GNSR and NBR joined the LNER in 1923 and all the Second World War casualties are commemorated at King's Cross Station in London. You can see images of the memorial here:

The other three companies joined the LMS. I don't know where their WW2 memorial is.
Given that all the Scottish railway workers for the Second World war will be listed on these two memorials we should probably have them on the forum in the Outside Scotland section.

Do we know of any other Railway related war memorials on the forum or still to photograph?

I knew my passion for hoarding trivia would come in handy.
This is a poor scan from 'Back Track' magazine from Dec 1996 (now out of print), and I don't have the full article. The article gave a short blurb on memorials and conveniently included this list. It's no better on my copy unfortunately.

Last year I had someone check the Kings X memorial for the name a local WW2 man. Regrettably the outcome was that the WW2 men are not named on it, only the mention of 1939-1945 as seen to the right of the memorial.
After the efforts they made to commemorate the WW1 casualties you would have thought LNER could have done better for the WW2 men. _________________ Jim

From Paul's post it looks like the LMS memorial is at Euston Station and the LNER have another memorial at York. Looking through Google I've found references to the York memorial having names on it.

Adam
The GNSR Coy became part of LNER. The following text is included on the GNSR Coy memorial at Aberdeen Station
"Local employees who gave their lives in the Second World
War (1939-45) are commemorated on the Memorial at Kings
Cross Station, London." _________________ Jim
