BUDD, JAMES.
Named on the Jedburgh War Memorial in Roxburghshire as:
BUDD, JAS. CORPL. SC. RIFLS .
James Budd – age 31 – Corporal (9714) 1st Battalion, Cameronians (Scottish Rifles)
James was a railway brakesman, living at Baillies Causeway in Hamilton when he married in 1913.
Born 1886 in Sunderland, County Durham. Son of James and Hannah Isabel (Kirton) Budd of 2 Water Works Road, Sunderland, County Durham.
Husband of Mary Ann (Turnbull) Budd of Old Bongate, of Bridge Street and of Maitland House, Jedburgh who he married in 1913 in Hamilton, Lanarkshire.
Missing in Action on 20 July 1916 and named on the Thiepval Memorial to the Missing of the Somme, France. _________________ Ken |
