JOHN H. WRIGHT – name added on a new panel on the memorial in October 2019.
John Henry Evershed Wright – age 27 – Gunner (1567661) 184 (Mixed) Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment, Royal Artillery.
Born 1916 in Dunbar. Son of the late John Bett Wright and of the late Elizabeth (Redpath) Wright of The Square in Spott, East Lothian. (died 1940 in Spott)
Died on Active Service on 13 April 1943 and buried in Dunbar Cemetery. (CWG)
Named on the Spott Parish War Memorial as JOHN D. WRIGHT and on the Spott Parish Church memorial as JOHN H. E. WRIGHT.


DAVID C. YOUNG
David Calderwood Young – age 33 – Lieutenant (229279) 1st Regiment, Reconnaissance Corps, Royal Armoured Corps.
David had been a bank teller with the Commercial Bank of Scotland in Dunbar and was a Private in the 2nd London Scottish when he married in 1940. He was commissioned from a Cadet to the Reconnaissance Corps in March 1942. His regiment, as part of the British 1st Infantry Division, landed at Anzio in Italy on 22 January 1944.
Born 1915 in Cowdenbeath, Fife. Son of David James Young and Helen (Laing) Young of Transy Grove, Dumfermline, Fife. Husband of Annabel Rhona McLeod (Stewart) Young of Dunbar who he married in 1940 in Dunbar.
Missing in Action on 8 February 1944 and named on the Cassino Memorial, Italy.
Also named on the Commercial Bank of Scotland WW2 memorial at Gogarburn near Edinburgh.


ROBERT YOUNG
I cannot trace personal details for this man. CWGC has:
Robert Young, Private (S/107937) Royal Army Service Corps.
Died on 4 October 1940 and buried in Dunbar Cemetery. (CWG)
