It's an interesting design and certainly takes some following with regards to which names belong to which war. _________________

I'm wondering if the John Tosh listed here should really be a George?
A George Tosh was born in the area and worked locally before going off to war with his parents still residing locally, whereas there's few John Tosh's listed on CWGC/SNWM and none have any obvious link to the area.

"Mrs Tosh, Elizabeth Cottage, Bucksburn, received information yesterday that her son, Private G. TOsh G Company, 6th Gordon Highlanders (T.F.), had died at a bae hospital of wounds received in action at Neuve Chapelle. Private Tosh, who was 20 years of age, was a worker at Mugiemoss Paper Works."

Derek - the name George Tosh does appear on the memorial (4th photo down on page 1) but I'm not at all sure which conflict this (and other sections) refer to.
Can anyone clarify.....
Am I correct that the WW2 names are those on the "front" buttress panels?
Are there 4 main panels? Are the names on the buttress panels all WW1?
It's quite frustrating trying to makes sense of these photos. _________________ Ken |
