LUMPHINNANS MEMORIAL UNVEILED BY MR ADAMSON, M.P.

Lumphinnans war memorial was unveiled on Saturday by Mr William Adamson, M.P., for West Fife. The memorial is a Roman cross set on a square pedestal, which bears granite tablets with the names of the men of the village who fell in the war. After Mr Adamson had unveiled the memorial Cowdenbeath Pipe Band played “The Flowers of the Forest,” and Bugler Nisbet, 7th R.H., Cowdenbeath, sounded “The Last Post.” Numerous wreaths were placed on the memorial, including one of poppy and evergreens from the ex-Service men. This was placed on the memorial by Mrs Sneddon, who lost three sons in the war. The Scotsman, Monday, 30 April 1923, 9.

FIFE ROYAL SCOT KILLED.
Mrs David Inglis, 106 Main Street, Lumphinnans, has been officially informed of the death in action of her husband, Private David Inglis, of the Royal Scots.
Inglis, who was a miner, enlisted immediately after the outbreak of war, and had been for fifteen months in the trenches. In his last letter he said he was looking forward to an early visit home.
