COWDENBEATH SOLDIER KILLED IN ACTION
Mr and Mrs Stephen Sneddon of Glenburn Place, Foulford Road, Cowdenbeath, have received intimation from the War Office that their son, Stephen Sneddon, (21) was killed action on February 5.
Sneddon was a miner employed at No. 7 Pit, Cowdenbeath, and enlisted in November, 1939.

Fife Man Killed in Middle East
The death in action in the Middle East of Private Alexander Paton (23), Scots Guards, son of Mr and Mrs Peter Paton, 117 Blamey Crescent, Cowdenbeath, is reported.
Paton was at one time employed in the linen factory at Dunfermline of Messrs Erskine Beveridge. Before he enlisted he was employed in the Lime Works near Burntisland.

Note - the only Paton listed is a J Paton but I am adding Alexander here due to the Cowdenbeath address |
