Whilst perusing a copy of the Perthshire Advertiser (17th September 1921) I happened on a short piece regarding the War Memorial there. What caught my eye was the final paragraph which I transcribed so that, hopefully, it can be picked up in the fullness of time (in case I forget!!)

The memorial erected in the Public Institute in Callander by the Comrades of the Great War was also unveiled by Lord Ancaster, before a large attendance of relatives of the fallen. The chair on this occasion was taken by Commandant Dr Harvey. This memorial is in the form of reproduced photographs of the 66 men commemorated on the public monument. The photographs are mounted in large, handsome oak frames.

UKNIWM - NOT LISTED.

I don't know if the Institute still exists or the memorial has been moved but this is one worth locating and seeing.

Received this reply today:

Dear Mr Duffy

Thank you for your enquiry. The photographs are still in existence and
are housed upstairs in Callander Kirk, South Church Street, Callander.
This is of course accessible on Sundays, but should you wish to visit
Callander at some other time please contact Mr Ken Dunn, who will be
happy to take you to the church. His telephone number is 01877 330558.

Good luck with your research.

Yours sincerely

Elma Lindsay
