William Whyte is also commemorated on the bronze plaque in the Memorial Porch;

But this window is a memorial window to a William Whyte , born 1829, died 1915. Now he MAY be the grandfather or possibly great grandfather of the war casualty of the same name, 1893-1918, but cannot himself be a war casualty.
