The memorial is set on a paved area by High Barholm Road. The base which is 2 to 3m across is made of three octagonal steps with an octagonal 1m high block. The WW1 inscription is a brass shield shaped plaque fastened onto the block by a brass 'belt' with celtic carvings. The WW2 inscription is carved into the stone block below the brass. From the block rises an octagonal pillar topped by a bronze unicorn rampant holding a saltire decorated shield. Overall height about 5m
