The parents of Private John Ritchie, who reside at 92 Bothwell Park, Bellshill, have been informed by their youngest son that his brother was killed by a bullet in the head. Private John Ritchie was 20 years of age, and was previously employed as a miner in Bothwell Park Colliery
."

He joined the new Army at the beginning of the war, and had been several weeks in the trenches. He was 20 years of age, and previous to enlisting was employed as a miner in Messrs the Summerlee Iron and Coal Company's Orbiston Colliery, Bellshill."

Not seeing this local born chap on the WW1 names panel:

John Mitchell

He died on board H.M. Hospital Ship, Devanha, on 15th July, as the result of wounds received in Mesopotamia on 29th April 1916.
