MORIARTY, HENRY.

Henry James Moriarty – age 33 – Private (201815) 1/7th Battalion, Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders.
Henry had worked as a compositor at the Dumfries & Galloway Standard before he moved to Airdrie in 1912.
He enlisted in 1916 and had been in France for about a year when he was killed.
Born 1885 in Dunscore, Dumfriesshire. Son of Thomas and Mary Moriarty of Dumfries.
Husband of Mary (Holmes) Moriarty of 32 North Bridge Street, Airdrie and of 69 Shakespeare Street, Dumfries who he married in 1910 in Dumfries.
Killed in Action – 13 October 1918.
Commonwealth War Grave – Auberchicourt British Cemetery, France.
