Not listed on UKNIWM

Located on outside wall of Carsphairn Parish Church at OS Map Ref NX 562 931

Although the memorials inside the church are listed on UKNIWM, this unlisted memorial is around the back of the church on the outside wall. The minister was not aware of its existence.

The lettering is heavily oxidised and difficult to read therefore I offer a transcription.

In loving memory of
Robert Kennedy, Marbrack Carsphairn
Trooper Kitcheners Light Horse
Who died in Field Hospital
From wounds received at Klips Drift
Paardeberg South Africa
25th February 1900

The three men listed on this memoria were brothers. One killed in the Boer war and the other two in WW1.
