1901 Census for Clackmannanshire Infections Disease Hospital, Alloa, Clackmannanshire lists a Carrel Fidler (13), patient, born New Zealand, listed.
1911 Census for Cheshire, Sale, Northenden Road has a Caroll (sic) Watt Fidler (23), Engineer's Designer, single, born New Zealand, Auckland, listed as a Boarder.

The Glasgow Herald, Thursday, 24th May, 1917.
"CASUALTIES - Notes on Officers - ARGYLE & SUTHERLAND HIGHLANDERS.
Mr. C. FIDLER.- Killed. Second Lieutenant Carrel Fidler, Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, attached to the R.F.C. who has been killed at the front, was the only son of Mrs. Fidler, Westray House, Alloa. He served his apprenticeship with Colonel Abercrombie, Alloa, and was in Canada when war broke out. He was 28 years of age." (Some of the letters/figures on the online newspaper are murky and unclear.)

Finally he is at page 98 of De Ruvigny's:-

Carrel enlisted as Driver 43952 in the Canadian Field Artillery in September 1914.
