Nice site, I don't think I can show you anything about layout or content, rather the other way around. I went for simplicity on my site (down at the moment) but one I like is http://www.newcumnock-warmemorials.org.uk/ or try the links section for others.

If you go to the forum memberlist you will see on the right hand side coumn members who have their own websites listed on their profiles. There are some very impressive sites out there.
