Kilmarnock Standard 27 November 1915
"DIED ON PNEUMONIA
Information has been recieved that Private Daniel McMillan, 1/4th R.S.F., second son of Mr Robert McMillan, 13 Dean Street, died on pneumonia on the 12th inst., in an hospital in Alexandria, Egypt. Private McMillan was employed in the Wal? Pit prior to enlisting in August 1914. He ? in the trenches with the Fusliliers on the Gallipoli Peninsula since their arrival, and had come safely through all the heavy fighting unscathed. Latterly he contracted pneumonia, and was conveyed to Alexandria"
