I believe this may have appeared in the London Gazette, as it was published in "South African Honours and Awards" which reprinted the pages of the Gazette which covered the Boer War.
Does anyone have any clues as to where this memorial might be located? And if so, any chance of a modern photograph?
"The Last Post" mentions he was educated at Clifton College. Could it perhaps be located there somewhere?
Could it perhaps never have existed, and just be a mockup created by the company as an example of their work?
I'd be really interested to know.

Email sent today to Clifton College, asking if this memorial is located somewhere in their grounds. |

Could this be the man?
On 25th November 1899 the garrison launched a sortie on Carter’s Ridge to the South West of the town, attempting to capture the Boer artillery established on the high ground. The attack was a limited success, catching the Boers by surprise but failing to take any of the guns. Kekewich attempted a repeat attack trying again for the guns on 28th November 1899. He directed the officer commanding the assault, Lieutenant Colonel Scott-Turner, only to attack the position if it was lightly held. The attack was maintained in spite of the heavy reinforcements the Boer had introduced, killing Scott-Turner and many of his men.
Rank is different, though Kimberley is town and dates match up.
There is a Henry Scott-Turnet on Black Watch memorial on Mound in Edinburgh rank (Brevet Major)
Still don't know where plaque is though! |

John,
Yes, that's him. And it sounds possible that this memorial might be in Cape Town.... |
