This week's (29/10/2015) edition of the Wigtownshire Free Press repoduces reports on the war from the 4/11/1915 edition. It contains a long report on Herbert Dunn's death and includes a photograph of him. In summary: Herbert Dunn died on 25/10/1915 of gastro-entiritis in hospital at Alexandria. He was a native of Glasgow and "a member of a well-known commercial family" there. Educated at Glasgow Academy and Sedburgh and hence to the Arts and Divinity classes at Glasgow University. Before becoming minister of Sheuchan Parish in Stranraer he was an assistant in West Kirk, Greenock. He enlisted in 1914 as a private in the Sportsman's Battalion before getting a commission in March 1915 in the 8th Scottish Rifles, sailing for Gallipoli in July.
