Great find Mags. There aren't many US servicemen commemorated on Scottish war memorials but there are a few. This is a good place to record them.

Were his parents residents of Glasgow at the time of his birth?

I don't think the SNWM records Scots who died serving in US Forces. Are they eligible? This one isn't, but should one born in Scotland be eligible?

Hello Adam,

His parents were both Russian. 1901 census shows two eldest children were born Russia, then the next child England so family must have come to UK between 1881-1883. There were eight children in all, the youngest born about 1893 in England. The 1895 Valuation Rolls have the family at 20 Adelphi Street, Glasgow so move to Glasgow must have been 1893-1895. Family is on 1911 census at 152 Battlefield Road, Glasgow and Lazarus, the father died Glasgow in 1917.
Perhaps it was because his family was living in Scotland, his birthplace was given as Scotland on the death record.
