WAR MEMORIALS
STRATHDON CENOTAPH - The memorial to the 35 men of Strathdon who fell in the war was unveiled by the Hon. Percy Thesiger of Tornasheen (a younger brother of Lord Chelmsford), who served as a trooper in the West Kent Yeomanry, and saw service in Egypt, Palestine and France before getting his commission. The memorial designed by Mr Arthur Taylor, sculptor, Aberdeen, is modelled on lines somewhat similar to the Cenotaph in London, and has been erected on an island site at the junction of the Belnabodach road with the main turnpike road. Private George Masson, Coul of Newe unveiled the inscription on the monument.
