Lumsden / Parish of Auchindoir - Gordon District
UKNIWM Ref No. 5858

The Auchindoir / Lumsden war memorial is very similar to that of Towie and I understand both monuments were the work of Morren & Co., Aberdeen.
The war memorial is a grey granite cross with wheel-head and a tapering shaft, and with a sheathed sword carved in relief on the face of the cross-head. The cross is set on a tall pedestal which in turn rests on two steps. The commemoration and names of the dead are set in lead lettering on the faces of the pedestal.
The monument is surrounded by an iron railing and stands outwith the kirkyard in Lumsden village.
