Note: 432 Sqdn was a Squdron of the Royal Canadian Air Force first formed at RAF Skipton-on-Swale in Yorkshire. (Source Wikipedia) [Amazingly this is where my dad worked during the war as a civilian (he was only about 16 at the time). He had a strong affection for the Canadians and they asked if he'd go back with them after the war.]

HMT Bedfordshire (FY141) was an armed naval trawler in the service of the Royal Naval Patrol Service during World War II. Transferred to the East Coast of the United States to assist the United States Navy with anti-submarine patrols, she was staffed by a British and Canadian crew. Bedfordshire was sunk by the German submarine U-558 on 11 May 1942 off the coast of Ocracoke Island in the Outer Banks of North Carolina, with the loss of all hands. (Source: Wikipedia)

John Rowan Dick was also lost on the Bedfordshire.
