Memorial: Cambrai Memorial, Louverval

Wigtownshire Free Press (27/12/1917): Second-Lieutenant John Forrest McCredie, Machine Gun Corps, elder son of Mrs McCredie, 18 Academy Street, Stranraer, is reported missing from November 30. He received his training in the Inns of Court Officers' Training Corps, and was gazetted in October of last year. He is 21 years of age, and was a medical student at Edinburgh University.

McCREDIE, JOHN FORREST (b. 1896).
High School, Stranraer ; Swimming. Student of Medicine, 1914-15. Inns of
Court O.T.C., Oct. 1915, Cadet; Cadet Corporal 1916. Machine-Gun Corps,
2nd Lieut. Nov. 1916. France. Missing, presumed killed at Villers-Guislain,
Cambrai, on 30th November 1917.
